On a sad note, I wanted to add that Dutton's Bookstore in Brentwood will be closing its doors forever on April 30, 2008. Ironically, that announcement came two days after my party... I was very upset to hear the news because Dutton's is one of the country's oldest and most prestigious independent bookstores. It's been an influential store for the book industry because of their passionate and tireless efforts to promote great authors and to herald up-n-coming debut authors. I often wrote in their cafe when I was an aspiring writer, and I would attend all their book author signings. I've been coming to Dutton's since 1996, and I was honored and privileged to have my first book launch party at this amazing store.
