It was a fun, impulsive idea to create a picture book version of National Novel Writing Month. I called my version "National Picture Book Writing Week" where I challenged myself and everyone to write 7 picture books in 7 days. It turned out to be a smashing success and I'll be hosting it again this May 2010, so please join us!

Hundreds of people signed up for "NaPiBoWriWee" and dozens of participants (nicknamed "PiBo's") ended up joining SCBWI and attending this year's conference. So I had a reunion on Friday night where we met to take pictures and see each other in real life. Elizabeth Byrd kind offered to loan us her pink flamingo i honor of one devoted PiBo, "Auntie Flamingo" who couldn't make the conference this year. Awwww!
