Foodie Friday: Eureka Good Eats!

Foodie Friday: Eureka Good Eats!

Welcome to Cafe Diem!

Welcome to FOODIE FRIDAY! In honor of our EUREKA Season 4.5 debut this week on SyFy, all my blogs this week were Eureka-related. I am a producer on the show EUREKA, which airs on SyFy. I started as a Co-Producer for Seasons 4.0 and 4.5, and I’m currently a Producer for our 5th season. Because our EUREKA’s Season 4.5 debuts this week, I’ve decided to devote an entire week to Eureka-themed blogs.

Our show’s Season 4.5 premiered on Monday July 11, 2011 on SyFy at 8 PM, followed by WAREHOUSE 13 and ALPHAS. It’s a great night of science fiction on Monday nights, so definitely hang out with us every Monday night!

Today’s final Eureka-centric blog focuses on all the food I ate when I was on our set in Vancouver. These pictures were taken from my trip to Vancouver for the filming of my episode 405, the Eureka/Warehouse 13 crossover episode “CROSSING OVER.”

Thanks again for reading my Eureka-centric blogs this week and for supporting our show. We really, really REALLY appreciate our fans and we can’t thank you enough for the Eureka love! I hope you enjoy our Season 4.5.

Please keep visiting my blog every where I try to blog daily with this schedule: Music Mondays, TV Tuesdays, Writer Wednesdays, Tuna Thursdays, and Foodie Fridays. 🙂

(Keep reading after the jump for my foodie adventures on the set of EUREKA in Vancouver!)

When you are a writer visiting the set of your TV series, you had better prepare for long, arduous hours. I really respect the actors and crew who work so hard on our sets – everyone has a positive attitude no matter how cold and rainy it is outside or how exhausted they are by the eleventh straight hour of shooting.

So if you wanna prepare to endure these long hours on set, you had better eat well! 🙂

Here’s a picture of me on the set of my Season 4.0 Eureka/Warehouse 13 crossover episode, CROSSING OVER (and yes that is Erica Cerra, “Jo Lupo,” making silly faces behind me!):

Below are pictures of what I ate all week. LOL! You might think I have a big appetite, but I swear, the hours are sooooo long and difficult that you need to store up all that energy from the food! 🙂

On my flight from LA to Vancouver, I enjoyed a lovely snack of fresh veggies, warm French bread, and artichoke spinach dip! The bear, by the way, in all the pictures, is Bartlett, my travel bear. You will be hearing and seeing more from Bartlett soon…

On the first day of shooting, I had a hearty Japanese-style breakfast of miso soup, nori, rice, pickles, and rare seared salmon. Yum! Bartlett had trouble with the chopsticks, though… 🙂

After a super long day on the set (stay tuned for a future TV TUESDAY blog on what really happens on the set of a TV show), I had a late night dinner of salad and French onion soup!

Another day, another hearty breakfast. This time from our Eureka catering truck. They are super nice and super talented cooks who would make Vincent proud! 🙂

Bartlett and I were overwhelmed by all our cereal and fruit and pastry choices! We decided to eat everything in the end. LOL! 🙂

A good breakfast is a smart start to a 12-hour plus day on set!

Another day, another late night dinner. This time, I had the cheese plate and I had to have another bowl of that yummy French onion soup!

During the next day, I stopped for a Vinspresso with Bartlett inside Cafe Diem. Okay, so it was imaginary Vinspresso, but I think at that point I was operating on two hours of sleep in five days. 🙂

Another late night dinner on the last night of my trip! This time, pasta aglio e olio!

On my flight back to Los Angeles, I found out Alaska Airlines has the coolest machine ever – it makes self-serve pancakes in their passenger lounge! OMG! Most. Exciting. Discovery. EVER. 🙂

Self-serve pancakes? Say no more! 🙂

Me & Bartlett eagerly await our first pancake…

Bartlett Bear and I wait anxiously for our first pancake!

… and our second pancake… I guestimate we both gained about 12 pounds after our trip to the EUREKA set in Vancouver! 🙂

Eureka is great sci-fi tv series. I like the plot that is little silly but enjoyable, exciting and entertaining.
