TV Tuesday: Eureka/Yooreka Forever!

TV Tuesday: Eureka/Yooreka Forever!

EUREKA on SyFy

Today’s TV Tuesday blog is a special blog dedicated to Eureka!

I started working on EUREKA in 2009 as a Co-Producer during Season 4.0 and 4.5. I am currently a Producer on this fun show for its 5th season. EUREKA is a fun drama series about a secret town of scientific geniuses who work on classified government projects. Of course, something is always going awry with some genius’ experiment, and it’s up to our hero Sheriff Jack Carter to save the day. Ironically, Carter is NOT a genius, but his common sense and Everyman sensibilities helps him see the forest for the trees, unlike our detail-obsessed scientists.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to write for this wonderful TV series. Everyone from the writing staff to the cast and crew and our post-production team and network have been like a family. It’s been a blast working for this show. I also am humbled by the fan response – I have met (online or in real life) many Eureka fans… you guys ROCK! 🙂 As a huge sci-fi fan, I’m excited to have finally written for a sci-fi show that is also family friendly and promotes a multicultural cast of diverse and authentic characters.

Some final tidbits from YOOREKA…

… a Eureka Unscripted blog entry about my prank on the rest of the writing staff who loved jigsaw puzzles… (this involved me kidnapping a puzzle piece and everyone wondering where it went until I started sending ransom notes to the staff!)

… my blog tour of my office…

Welcome to my spartan office!

… the doodles I drew while in the Writers’ Room because doodling helps me think…

From these doodles come great ideas, I swear! Honest! 🙂

… and a cartoon I drew of the Eureka writing staff waiting impatiently for me to figure out what I wanted to order for lunch. (I am the most indecisive person EVER. I take forever with menus. LOL!) I also drew all the cartoons for our Eureka writers’ blog here: http://eurekaunscripted.typepad.com/blog/about-us/

Paula tries to order lunch at Eureka with disastrous results...

I now leave you with a picture of my desk where I wrote for Eureka! 🙂

Farewell Eureka/Yooreka from Seymour & Mr. Wiggums!

Thank you again to our fans and to everyone at EUREKA!!!! 🙂

Each episode is one step closer to the sad. This post made me want to cry…not only for the show, but for you! I hope you find something bigger and better and geekier to write for! 🙂 Can’t wait to see where you go next!

I have been watching Eureka since season one and have really enjoyed it. I wasn’t able to keep up on a weekly basis and fell off for a while. I have recently been catching up on episodes hosted at my TV provider/employers ON Demand site, DISHOnline.com. In addition to Eureka and other Syfy shows, there are thousands of movies and other TV shows to watch anytime. I am sad to see the show go as I have been with many other Syfy shows. At least I can get caught up before the last episode.

Hi Adam. Thank you so much for your kind comment, I’m glad you were able to keep up with our show and others. Thanks for your support! We still have two more eps this season plus a Christmas special and then Season 5.0 in 2012! best, P.
