Rising From the Ashes
Simon Boughton at Norton Young Readers has acquired, in an exclusive submission, author Paula Yoo’s new work of YA nonfiction, RISING FROM THE ASHES: HOW THE 1992 LOS ANGELES UPRISING BRIDGED TWO COMMUNITIES. The book will explore a milestone in recent American history — the 1992 Los Angeles civil unrest movement, focusing on the destruction and rebirth of LA’s historic Koreatown and taking an in-depth look at the relationship between the Korean American and Black communities during these events and since.
