TUNA THURSDAY: Adventures With the Catsitters!

Welcome to the first TUNA THURSDAY blog of 2012! As we all recover from our holidays and get back to work, I thought I’d start off this month’s blogs with a funny account of what my cats Oreo, Beethoven & Charlotte did while we were away on vacation.

We have been celebrating “Xmas in Vegas” since 1999. It’s a fun vacation, and I’ll be posting a FOODIE FRIDAY blog tomorrow (1/6/12) about our foodie adventures in Las Vegas. Ginger and her colleague Jessie took care of our cats while we were on our Christmas vacation. They are both certified RVTs (registered veterinary technicians) at a local animal hospital. So that ROCKS because talk about peace of mind – not only are they feeding, playing, and taking care of our cats, but they can spot any strange health problems while we are out of town.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 25, 2011

(From Ginger)

ME: Merry Xmas from Vegas! We r here now. Looking forward to hearing how the cats are! I only gave them a handful of food this morning so definitely give ’em plenty of food tonite! Tnx! xo P.

GINGER: I have arrived at your house! The boys greeted me! Oreo is telling me to feed them NOW!

GINGER: I will find Charlotte!

ME: Yay! She may be under the bed?

ME: The laster light works for Charlotte too

GINGER: ok!

GINGER: Char is under your bed inside the mattress. I pet her throughout he lining and talked to her. I showed her the laser. It sounds like she just came through the kitty door so I will her space and time. The boys are eating happily! I’ll watch tv for a bit.

ME:  Yay! She is always so suspicious but she will warm up. Thank u and eat drink everything 🙂

GINGER: Yes she is. But she did talk back a little. She will warm up again! Thank you so much for the wine and cookies and Starbucks card!

ME: She will love u again soon 🙂 your welcome! Thank YOU again! PS. Is Oreo too fat and is beet okay no fever or hot body? I think he is fine but I am always paranoid with him

GINGER: Beethoven is great! Eating and rubbing his face on my ugg boots! He doesn’t feel too warm. Oreo looks healthy!

GINGER: Thank u!!!!

GINGER: Charlotte came out from under the bed but not long enough for a photo 🙁

MONDAY DECEMBER 26, 2011

ME: Oh Ginger u rock! These pics r adorable and I love how Oreo is being all pushy in having u take his pic too! How hilarious r b&C with the laser? 🙂 thank u again it sounds like they r doing well! R they eating well? Is Oreo being greedy? (I also noticed he will occasionally eat B&C’s food too when they r not hungry! xo P

GINGER: Oreo is being a good big brother. He watches them play with the laser and joins in a little. He’s been good about letting them eat too!

ME: Yay! I miss them so much it hurts. Thank u!

GINGER: I’m sure! It is so hard to leave them!!!!!

TUESDAY DECEMBER 27, 2011

JESSIE: Hi Paula! Hope your having a lovely trip. Everyone is doing great! Thanks for the goodies. Pic of Charlotte to follow.

JESSIE: Beautiful charlotte!

ME: Yay!!! Thank u! Many hugs to the cats and happy holidays to u! PS. Oreo always wakes me up at 5 AM for food LOL I hope he is not being greedy with u 🙂

JESSIE: Not at all. Oreo is being very sweet and talkative. Everyone is being so well mannered. Maybe… Beethoven is giving me love bites and attacking my scarf as I type. Love Him!! I was also honored that Charlotte came out from under the bed for me!!

ME: Yay!!!! Yes beet can get bitey but they are love bites. Char adores the laser lite if u want to keep the princess entertained. Oreo is hungry a lot so please make sure there is a lot of Iams for him at night. I feed some diet food too cuz I worry about his weight. 🙂 eat anything in our house 🙂

JESSIE: Definitely will play with the laser for Charlotte and the boys. Everyone has a good amount of dry food for today and this evening. Thank you for the hospitality. 🙂

ME: Yay! Thank u so much. We really appreciate the peace of mind u guys give us cuz we worry and miss them. 🙂 beet and char love the laser esp char and ore prefers the bird feathers hiding under a rug.

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 28, 2011

JESSIE: After the laser show! Everyone is doing great and I’ve given squeezes and pats to all of you!

ME: Awww thank u! So crazy how Char’s eyes glow! U wore them out LOL

JESSIE: LOL! They were so funny with the laser. I will see them again on Friday.

ME: Yay!!! So Ginger takes over wed and thru? Isn’t char especially hilarious with the laser? Thank u again. Have a great day!

JESSIE: Charlotte was really cute romping around after the light! She is just adorable! and yes, Ginger takes over for tomorrow and thursday. Have fun playing slots today! 😉

THURSDAY DECEMBER 29, 2011

GINGER: Oreo loves my purse!

GINGER: Beethoven greeted me at the door and has been following me around.

GINGER: Charlotte is in the bedroom being a little shy. But she hello. I’ll get her out with the laser.

ME: Good morning! Oh I love how they r bonding with u. Thank u! BTW is Char too thin or is her size ok? How about beet? Are they done growing or will they get any bigger?

GINGER: I think Charlotte is a petite kitty. She may grow a little more. Beethoven is a good size but may grow a little more too. My cats seemed to grow until they were about 2 years old they started to fill out more. Oreo is such a good big brother. I love how he watches over the babies.

JESSIE: uh oh! Is this protest to your absence or just them (beethoven) bored? lol!

ME: Hahahha!!!!! And yes Beet totally did that., he has done that before!

JESSIE: He supervised the clean up job and I’m sure he was making new plans. They are all doing great and excited to know your coming home. Pictures are up next 🙂
