Tuna Thursday: Purr-reka!

Welcome to TUNA THURSDAY! In honor of our EUREKA Season 4.5 debut this week on SyFy, all my blogs this week are Eureka-related. I am a producer on the show EUREKA, which airs on SyFy. I started as a Co-Producer for Seasons 4.0 and 4.5, and I’m currently a Producer for our 5th season. Because our EUREKA’s Season 4.5 debuts this week, I’ve decided to devote an entire week to Eureka-themed blogs.

Our show’s Season 4.5 premiered Monday July 11, 2011 on SyFy at 8 PM, followed by WAREHOUSE 13 and ALPHAS. It’s a great night of science fiction on Monday nights, so definitely hang out with us every Monday night!

Today’s weekly TUNA THURSDAY blog is always about my cats Oreo, Beethoven, and Charlotte. Hi, my name is Paula and I’m a cat-aholic. 🙂 It has been six days since my last cat blog. 😛

So today, I present to you an all-cat version of EUREKA called PURR-REKA! The title is inspired by a fellow Eureka writer /Co-EP whose family jokes about a cat version of Eureka called PURR-REKA! LOL! 🙂 It stars Sheriff Oreo dealing with two new troublesome scientists Beethoven and Charlotte whose tuna detector array is set at a frequency that interferes with the electromagnetic shield that protects the town of EUREKA and GD from the general public. If Sheriff Oreo doesn’t save the day, all the tuna in Eureka will be destroyed! 🙂

In today’s episode of PURR-REKA, Sheriff Oreo was enjoying his day off, just reading a book about vampires…

Suddenly, Sheriff Oreo noticed some strange scratches on a nearby chair. “Not again,” he thought. “Another typical day in Purr-reka.” His day off was over. Time to investigate!

Sheriff Oreo then noticed another clue – torn up paper towels! And then reports flooded in of missing tuna throughout Purr-reka. What was going on?

Sheriff Oreo then caught two new Purr-reka scientists amidst more torn paper towels and toilet paper. He investigated the scene, asking if they knew anything about the missing tuna and the torn papers. Both scientists denied any involvement in the missing tuna. They also denied ripping up the toilet paper. But Sheriff Oreo was still suspicious…

Finally, Sheriff Oreo caught Beethoven and Charlotte in the living room, experimenting with what they claimed were tuna array detectors. They claimed these cones would help locate the missing tuna!

But Sheriff Oreo had a hunch… what if the tuna array detectors were interfering with the electromagnetic shield that hid Purr-reka from the rest of the world? He then caught Beethoven on top of the refrigerator. “Your tuna array detectors are interfering with the frequency of our electromagnetic … oh look, a moth!” Sheriff Oreo said before getting distracted by a moth that flew by…

Finally, Sheriff Oreo caught Beethoven red-handed with a torn roll of paper towels. “Your tuna array detectors were operating at the same frequency of the paper towels, thus interfering with our electromagnetic shields which then caused the tuna to melt away!” Sheriff Oreo said.

Sheriff Oreo put Beethoven away in his jail cell…

But Beethoven gave photographic evidence of Charlotte as his partner in crime…

So Sheriff Carter had to lock away Charlotte as well…

After Sheriff Oreo fixed the paper towels, he had his CatMommy buy more tuna for the town of Purr-reka. Then he released Beethoven and Charlotte from jail and they all went to sleep, exhausted after another typical day of mischief and mayhem in Purr-reka!
